Fellowship Project
Ms. Zhao Jing spent six months (March to September 2017) at the Brooklyn Museum in the U.S.A., where she participated in and studied the design of the museum education projects and feature programmes. During the fellowship, Ms. Zhao organized numerous education activities and workshops pertaining to Chinese art and culture.
Biography
Ms. Zhao Jing graduated from the School of Archaeology and Museology at Peking University. She is now the Associate Director and Associate Research Fellow of the Social Education and Promotion Department at the National Museum of China. She led the National Museum Experiential Education Project and has been actively exploring theories and models of museum education.
Recent Development and Achievement
- Deputy leader of the interpretation team for the exhibition “The Great Transformation – Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up” in 2018, responsible for the selection and training of 90 interpreters and on-site interpretation arrangements.
- Presided over the compilation of “National Museum Children’s History Encyclopedia Picture Book” which won the “Excellent Science Works Award” of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
- Presided over “Museum Youth Education Work Guide”, a project of the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
- Edited and published the “Chinese Museum Youth Education Work Guide”.
- Wrote and published Chinese and English academic papers including: “Research on the Methodology of Integrating a Museum component into Children’s Picture Books”, “The Path to Realizing the Resources Development of Museum Curriculum through Museum-School Cooperation”, “Collaborations between Museums and Schools: A focus on National Museum of China promoting integration of museum and school resources, etc.
