Fellowship Project
Dr. Yu Kuo-ching spent six months (November 2012 – May 2013) at The Palace Museum in Beijing, China where he researched the museum’s collection of bronze inscriptions and seals.
Biography
Dr. Yu Kuo-ching is a retired researcher from the National Palace Museum in Taipei and is now focused on teaching and writing books. He specialises in bronze inscriptions, seal engraving, and Chinese calligraphy, and has organized a range of exhibitions on bronze, seal, artifacts of Sheng and Zhou dynasties in Taiwan.
Recent Development and Achievement
Dr. Yu Kuo-ching plans to write a book on four rare works of art in the National Palace Museum: Mao Gong Ding, Sanpan, Zong Zhou Zhong, and Song Hu. Other books, including the 10th edition of “The Thousand Character Classic in standard cursive script”, “A study on Huaisu’s Autobiography”, “Introduction of Chinese bronze inscription”, “The history of Chinese character” and “Appreciating Ancient and Modern Seals”, are in the pipeline.
