Dr. Yu Pei-chin spent six months (January – April 2014; August – November 2014) at The British Museum in London, U.K. where she studied the museum’s and other European museums’ collections of Qing Court ceramics, painted enamel and timepieces of the 18th century related to Giuseppe Castiglione, and completed her research project on “Castiglione and Porcelain”.
Biography
Dr. Yu Pei-chin currently serves as the General-affairs Deputy Director of the National Palace Museum in Taipei. In recent years, she focuses on the research of Qing Court culture and its interaction with the West. She is also engaged in the Chinese ceramics research such as the imperial kiln wares of the Southern Song dynasty, porcelain of the Interregnum period and the imperial kiln wares of the Chenghua period.
