The highlight of the Guimet × China 2024 year, the exhibition “Tang China” presents for the first time in France unpublished treasures from one of the most brilliant Chinese dynasties.
With 207 exceptional sets and works from more than 30 Chinese museum institutions – including the 3 most important treasures of Tang goldwork, murals that have never traveled to the West and works from recent archaeological discoveries – the exhibition allows us to discover the beauty and splendor of this exceptional period in Chinese history. The exhibition, which takes us on a stroll through the capital Chang’an, also allows us to discover the life of the population under the Tang and the daily practices, both those of the elites and those of other social classes or foreigners who played a leading role at the time.
